These are portable kitchen bins, designed to receive biodegradable waste for composting. This project was a reflection on material production processes, and how to use technical limitations as strengths for certain use cases.
This compostable bin is designed to be pressed from recycled paper pulp. It would decompose with the compost, bringing nutrients and necessary fibers.
This bin is designed to be vacuumed-formed out of sheets of PET.
It is designed with ease of cleaning in mind, with a machine washable grid which also allows waste to be easier to remove and slows down decomposition inside the bin.
