Atelier des communs
2016/2017 - ENSCI
with ENS Cachan & Matali Crasset
Project made with Jeanne Talonneau
The E.N.S of Cachan (now Saclay), a renowned university in the south of Paris, was about to move out further down south. The move was controversial : a lot of teachers and employees had built their lives around the area, and they were reluctant to leave.
This project was exhibited at the 2017 design biennale of St-Etienne.
We focused on areas which seemed deserted or devoid of defined function. Paradoxically, these areas were rich of appropriations by a variety of users.
Our proposal is a hacking kit for the school's spaces (modular furniture). It was designed for students to create public events within the atrium of the new building.
